Date posted: Apr 30th, 2013 Wed nite races Bad news, one of my sailboat crew will be moving to his own boat this season. Good news, I'm looking for new crew members for regular Wed night races on Casco Bay, and occasional longer races (eg up to Camden). Looking for someone who has some sailing experience, no racing experience is necessary, although it would be a plus. This is fairly low key, I race in the "cruising class", so no spinnakers. But there are generally about 10 other boats in the cruising class, and it is competitive. I'm looking for someone who is able to commit to most of the Wed nite races approx 5 to 8 pm. We also have a couple practice sails, and maybe a couple of longer weekend races. If you have some sailing experience, and are interested, send me an e-mail. cfarchinal.bmr@gmail.com

Date posted: Apr 24th, 2013 Windjammer Cook A schooner in Maine's famous windjammer fleet is looking for just the right person to be cook aboard for the upcoming sailing season. The cook is responsible for management of all galley operations from menu planning to purchasing, stowing, preparation and presentation. As such, organizational skills are crucial. The cook is also involved in on deck responsibilities including raising sails, raising anchor and running the yawl boat. Experience in a restaurant setting is helpful. All meals are prepared on a woodstove with no electrical food processing devices.
Working aboard a windjammer is rewarding and fun. Ideal applicants are available for the entire season, now through October.Applicants should be organized, efficient, hard working, friendly, and versatile with the ability to work with little supervision. Strength, agility, leadership skills and an outgoing personality are more important than years of sailing experience. The ability to play a musical instrument, sing, or other special talent, is always an added plus. All on board crew members are drug tested prior to employment and are subject to random testing through out the sailing season. Date posted: Apr 9th, 2013 Female Novice ISO Experienced Skipper It is a passionate dream of mine to find an experienced Skipper (who enjoys teaching) and join him on his sailboat for the adventure of cruising! I grew up lake sailing in the Northeast and during my Jr. year of college in Spain, I lived and sailed on a wooden sailboat (25 ft.) in the Mediterranean for 1 month with 3 other people. Since then I have gone out here and there(on larger boats 40-50 ft.) and I now want sailing to become the main focus in my life. I just participated in my first race a few weeks ago in Key West. What a blast!

Date posted: Dec 23rd, 2012 Crew Position Wanted I graduate from Wisconsin in June and dream of sailing after my dental exam. I've sailed my Hobie 16 on Lake Michigan for years but don't have any experience in the big leagues. A semester in Ecuador and NOLS mountaineering on a glacier for 30 days taught me how to be aware in close quarters, endure the elements, and maintain a positive attitude. Cheers.
